126 Days Then ITFDB Again

Pregame crowd at Camelback Park to see Dodgers work out during Spring Training 2025.

Dodgers play the White Sox at Camelback Ranch on February 19, 2027. That’s 126 days until Dodgers baseball resumes at Spring Training.

Dodgers lost last night getting swept in the NLCS by the Brewers. No World Series. No threepeat.

I was disappointed to say the least. I never felt like this Dodger team could threepeat, but I did think they would take the Brewers to a few more games. So, I was looking forward to more Dodger baseball. To another game with Skubal, then one with Snell and then Yamamoto. The Dodger bats seemed to be waking up and I wanted to see what Ohtani would do.

But, no. Last night, the Dodgers’ season came to an end.

Of course it was different last year. Dodgers won their second World Series in a row. Game 7 last year was one for the ages with Muncy in the eighth, Rojas in the ninth and Smith in the eleventh all homering to pull out the win. Yamamoto was a very deserving Series MVP. Dave Roberts talked about how good things happen when you play the game the right way.

Losses hurt, but it is hard to complain too much. Fourteen straight playoff appearances, lots of memorable post season play and an ownership that does its best to bring the game’s best players to Dodger Stadium.

So next Spring, barring a lockout, the Dodgers will be back at Camelback Ranch. In the Arizona sun, fans will crowd around the chain link to watch Ohtani take batting practice.

It will be a new year, with new hopes and new faces. Coaches, players and fans will be excited for the season. The Dodgers’ roster is still star studded and Josue DePaula and a raft of Dodger minor leaguers are in the wings.

And sometime on the afternoon of February 19, 2027, at long last, it will be again TFDB.

126 days.
